Mr. Jonathan H. Chou (周嘉鴻), born in 1964, is an independent non-executive Director of our Company. He was appointed as an independent non-executive Director, chairman of Audit Committee and a member of Remuneration Committee of our Company on January 15, 2021 and is primarily responsible for supervising and providing independent judgment to our Board.
Mr. Jonathan H. Chou is a seasoned advisor, and finance executive with over 30 years of professional experience in international banking and various ascending leadership positions, from Fortune 500 companies to Asia-headquartered U.S. listed companies. He was most recently the CFO of UTAC Holdings Ltd., a global semiconductor assembly and test services provider. He has been serving as an independent non-executive director, the chairman of the audit committee and a member of the remuneration committee of MicroPort Scientific Corporation (微創醫療科學有限公司), a company listed on the Stock Exchange (stock code:00853), since September 3, 2010.
Before his tenure at UTAC, Mr. Chou held the pivotal role of CFO at Kulicke & Soffa Industries (Nasdaq: KLIC), a $2B plus market capitalization company, from 2010 to 2018. K&S is a leading provider of semiconductor packaging and electronic assembly solutions supporting the global automotive, consumer, communications, computing, and industrial segments. His leadership was instrumental in the company's success, demonstrating his ability to drive results in high-pressure environments.
He started his career as a Management Associate at Citibank and spent over 10 years in banking. Subsequently, he held several senior finance leadership positions with Fortune 500 companies, including Honeywell, Tyco ADT, Lucent Technologies (Bell Labs), and the Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG).
He volunteers and serves on the Board of Directors of Emerging Markets Investors Alliance, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that enables institutional investors to support good governance, promote sustainable development, and improve investment performance in the governments and companies they invest.
Mr. Chou holds a B.A. in Economics from the University at Buffalo and an MBA from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business.
